The challenge

CS GAS was engaged by an engineering and design & build solutions provider, for a metropolitan local government authority, to deliver a large-scale landfill fugitive gas solution, centred around the design and construction of a 1,500 cubic metre landfill biogas flare.

The project required a compliant and reliable flare solution capable of managing fugitive landfill gas emissions on a large-scale Victorian landfill site.

The installation also needed to meet the state’s strict Type B gas compliance requirements, while aligning with the client’s longer-term plans for an onsite power station anticipated within the next three to four years.

This required a custom solution that would meet immediate operational needs while supporting future site development objectives.

The solution
